These polishing compounds are for buffing and polishing most metals including aluminum, brass, stainless steel, silver, gold, etc. and most plastics (cannot be used on low melting point plastics). A polishing compound chart on the back of the card shows the proper compound to use with each material. Basic polishing instructions are included as well.

I bought this set along with a couple buffer wheels to do some polishing of old brass door and window hardware. The polishing guide in the back is adequate, but if you're a polishing newbie, as I was, you might want to read up a bit more elsewhere. Two useful points: use sparingly but frequently (touch to buffing wheel for less than a second and reapply often) and clean your wheel before changing compounds. The products work as they should.
